Stargazers

Thank you Linda, this is one of my most favourite places on the planet. I had genuine tears of joy in my eyes the first time I laid eyes on it from roughly the same spot your excellent photo was taken. I even remember the exact time and day because sadly it was September 11th 2001, almost the precise moment the World Trade Centre came under attack, although I didn't know it at the time of course. I was staying in a lovely little holiday bungalow up on the high ground roughly half way between St. Ives and Penzance, and on returning there later in the day I turned on the TV to catch the news. The first image to hit my eyes was a plane crashing into one of the twin towers. At first I thought it was a movie review but as I watched the harsh reality unfolded. It has always stuck in my mind how in one day human emotions can be tugged in such opposing directions. The beauty of nature versus the ugliness of humanity seems to be a recurring theme these days.
